The Niffo Huts
About This Spot
Nestled along the sun-kissed shores of Sint Michiel, The Niffo Huts exude a laid-back charm that captures the essence of Curaçao’s coastal rhythm. Arriving here, you’re greeted by the gentle hum of waves mingling with the murmur of casual conversations, picnic tables spread out on the beach creating an informal, inviting space where locals and visitors alike gather to unwind. The pace is unhurried, the air tinged with salt and the promise of a sunset best enjoyed with a refreshing drink in hand.
This is not a place where formality finds a foothold. Instead, it’s a blend of cheerful simplicity and genuine comfort—an easy spot where the day’s worries seem to dissolve with each passing breeze. Evenings here often carry the soft pulse of live music, slowly building energy that feels both spontaneous and soulful, perfectly complementing the vibrant yet mellow mood on the shore.
The menu at The Niffo Huts invites discovery, with flavors that echo the island’s rich seafood heritage and grill traditions. Whether you’re savoring a fresca ceviche or diving into a burger packed with local character, there’s a feeling that every bite tells a story—one of coastal freshness, friendly fires, and shared moments. The cocktails, thoughtfully crafted and often enjoyed as the sun dips low, add another layer to the experience, balancing the savory with the sweet, the tropical with the familiar.
What truly sets this spot apart is its honest atmosphere—a place where the service carries the warmth of genuine hospitality, and the crowd is a mix of longtime locals and curious newcomers. It’s easy to imagine returning not just for the food and drinks, but for those quietly joyful human moments: the clink of glasses at sunset, laughter spilling across the sand, and the relaxed contentment of being somewhere that feels a little like home, just beside the sea.

Wanted to try this place for a long time, so for our anniversary made a reservation. (Please do, it's quite busy). The location is amazing, on the beach, watching the sunset. We tried the fish platter and the salchipapas. Fish was quite good, but was too small to be called a platter. Salchipapas were really good, a bit too much sauce. The drinks were amazing even though the regular bartender was not in that day, the manager knows how to mix. All in all a great experience.

Great place to watch sunset. Very authentic atmosphere. Welcoming service. Food was OK, but not more than that

Our family really enjoyed our dinner at the Niffo Huts! The salmon pasta was a standout with zucchini and mushrooms mixed in. Strong drinks, fun food, and reasonable prices make this an easy choice if you are looking for a local option near Blue Bay.

Nice and relaxing place for dinner. Waiting staff is very friendly. Person behind the cash register not so much. Tables are picknick tables positioned over the beach. Not much shade around so come prepared for that. Prices are quite okay. We went for the fish platter for two. Nice variety of fish. Taste was good, but not extraordinary. Smoothies are nice. Card payments possible. Sea not very suitable for swimming but for the views okay. There's a little bit adventurous wooden bridge crossing a small river next to this restaurant where our kids enjoyed playing while waiting for the food to be prepared. The online reservation didn't work when I tried. Plenty of free parking available.

This spot is truly a hidden gem, offering a relaxing atmosphere, scrumptious cuisine, and welcoming service. On Thursday evenings, they even feature live music, and the singer's voice is simply amazing! Thanks to a friend, I discovered this restaurant that's frequented by locals and not overrun by tourists. After an adventurous hike, I had a delightful evening here.

While I would agree with others that the service was more island paced than I would expect in America, it was no worse than other spots I've been to on this or other islands. The burger, skewers, and chicken wings all were great. Also the Blue Sami was terrific! Just a heads up, you pay at the bar, so no need to wait once you've finished your food, just head to the bar and pay.
